Murry E. Durst serves as director.
Durst draws on the roots of Outward Bound to develop North Carolina Outward Bound School’s programming. He recruits instructors who are as much sensitive educators as skilled outdoor users.

1971 - 1976

|
Dan Meyer serves as Executive Director.
The School achieves financial stability and a national reputation for excellence during Meyer’s tenure.

Begin offering courses for girls.
The School also offers courses for groups like managers and teachers.

|
Junior courses for students aged 14 to 16 are added.
The School also offers winter courses for college students with interim breaks and contract courses for other organizations.
